Marikku is also a self-portrait of Shiro himself to refuse his mother.

Marikku was the only child and under the state of being suffering consistently from physical abuse of his mother's since his elementary school days till he became a junior high-school student. (……) Marikku at that time was a shodow of me. Another brother or kinship of mine, who was a non-biological buddy-in-heart. He was a so-called alter Jiro my brother. He was an alter ego.
